This glossary explains key terms used across FYBIT. Use it to understand trading actions, risk controls, wallet operations, security features, and index pricing.
Trading basics
PnL
Profit and loss on a position. Positive PnL means profit, negative PnL means loss. Calculate PnL for different leverage levels.
PnL percent
PnL expressed as a percentage relative to the amount allocated to the position.
Leverage
A multiplier that increases the position value relative to the amount you allocate. Higher leverage magnifies both profit and loss.
PnL leverage trading
Trading model where outcomes scale with price movement and the chosen leverage. Users can profit from upward or downward moves.
UP position
A position opened when you expect the price to rise.
DOWN position
A position opened when you expect the price to fall.
Position
An open trade that remains active until you close it or it is closed automatically by rules.
Allocated amount
The amount you commit to a specific position. In isolated mode, risk is capped within this amount.
Notional value of the position
The total position value after applying leverage. Example, 1000 USDT allocated at 10x creates 10000 USDT notional value.
Wallet balance
Your available funds in BTC, ETH, or USDT that you can use for trading or withdrawals.
Available balance
Funds available in your wallet for opening new orders.
Orders and execution
Order
An instruction to open or close a position, using Market or Limit execution.
Market order
Executes immediately at the current market price.
Limit order
Executes only when the market reaches the specified price. For UP, limit should be below market. For DOWN, limit should be above market, otherwise it executes immediately.
Execution price
The price at which your order is filled.
Buy UP
An order that opens or adds to an UP position.
Buy DOWN
An order that opens or adds to a DOWN position.
Sell order
An order used to close a position.
Sell Market
Closes a position immediately at the market price.
Sell Limit
Closes a position at a specific price. On UP, it should be above market. On DOWN, it should be below market, otherwise it executes immediately.
Trading fee
A fee charged when trading. On FYBIT, market and limit order fees are the same.
Risk controls and automatic closing
Stop loss
A price level that closes the position automatically to limit loss. You can set it when opening a trade or after the position is open.
Loss cut
Automatic closing of a position when it reaches the liquidation price. Loss cut price is set automatically when opening a position.
Liquidation price
The price at which Loss cut triggers and the position is automatically sold. Estimate liquidation price using the calculator.
Loss cut price
The liquidation price level shown before and after opening a position. It can change after averaging.
Profit auto sell
Optional feature that closes the position automatically when profit at the average price reaches a selected level, such as 100 percent, 200 percent, 300 percent.
Risk cap in isolated mode
The maximum loss is limited to the amount allocated to the position. Your remaining wallet balance is not used to cover the loss.
Position management
Opposite direction positions
UP and DOWN positions can be opened at the same time and do not depend on each other.
Merging same direction positions
Same direction positions in the same asset opened using the same wallet currency merge into one position with a new average entry price and leverage.
Averaging
The process of recalculating average entry price and effective leverage after merging.
Position holding period
An open position is valid up to 120 hours. If not closed, it is automatically sold during the last hour. A merged position can exist up to 240 hours.
Auto close at expiry
Automatic sale at market price near the end of the holding period.
Deposits and withdrawals
Deposit
Adding cryptocurrency to your FYBIT wallet.
Withdrawal
Sending cryptocurrency from your FYBIT wallet to an external address.
Supported assets for deposit and withdrawal
BTC on Bitcoin network. ETH and USDT on Ethereum network ERC20.
Network
The blockchain used to transfer funds. On FYBIT, BTC uses Bitcoin network, ETH and USDT use ERC20.
Confirmations
Blockchain confirmations required before a deposit is credited. BTC after 1 confirmation. ETH and USDT after 6 confirmations.
Deposit address
A unique address displayed for deposits. FYBIT deposit addresses are unchangeable and use cold wallets with multiple signatures.
Deposit History
A section that shows deposit timestamps and status.
Withdrawal fee
A network fee reflected in withdrawal limits. Minimum withdrawal amount must be no less than the fee for each asset.
Withdrawal processing time
Usually within minutes, sometimes up to 24 hours due to manual processing from cold wallets.

Security and account access
Two factor authentication, 2FA
An extra verification step using a time based code. FYBIT uses Google 2FA, and it can be enabled for login and for withdrawals.
Cold wallets
Offline storage used for most funds. Access requires manual intervention and multiple approvals.
DDoS protection
Infrastructure protection designed to keep the platform available during traffic flooding attacks.
Attack surface
All possible points where an attacker could try to compromise a system. Reducing it means limiting exposure.
Index and quotes
Index
FYBIT Index is based on weighted average price quotes from multiple exchanges and excludes the minimum and maximum quote at the moment of calculation.
Weighted average
An average where each exchange quote can have its own weight in the calculation.
Price quote
A price from a given exchange used as an input to the index.
Price sources
Exchanges used to form the index, such as HTX, Coinbase, Bybit, Binance, Bitfinex.
